How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
I have found DEECA to be incredibly flexible with hours, it may be different to other teams but a lot of my work can be accomplished individually at any time so I have a lot of freedom to set my start and end times each day, accrue and take TIL and change my working location for the day to better suit personal appointments and commitments

The working arrangements are really flexible, depending on the teams. The 'normal' working hours are between 7am and 7 pm, so any 7.6 hour days within that is usually accepted. If you have an appointment on one day, you can make up those 'lost' hours on another day too. Depending on the role, there is also arrangements to do less than full time hours, or job shares (where two people do less than full time hours and work the same role that adds up to the 40 hours). You can also get time in lieu for working longer hours or weekends, or get overtime for out of normal business hours.

DEECA is very supportive of flexible working arrangements

The flexible hours are super helpful so that you are still able to make appointments and pre planned events. TIL is really helpful to allow for a day off if you need to do something/be somewhere

I have access to extremely flexible arrangements and I quite enjoy that. My manager is very relaxed and has an 'as long as the work is getting done' approach, which I am greatly appreciate of. I am not expected to work any more hours than required. However, I observe those around me taking on high work and stress loads (eg my manager and team manager) and I find that concerning sometimes - I still don't quite understand what the line is here of work-life balance vs being required to finish the work. It is also a bit concerning of the general culture of budget cuts meaning there is less people to complete the same amount of work.

Very flexible, within reason I can tailor each day to suit my needs.

Very flexible. I have 2 days in the office and 3 at home most weeks. I also have a lot of flexibility to take time in lieu if I do end up working a longer day, usually when I'm in the field.

DEECA is really flexible with work hours. Many people work hybrid (in the office and at home), and some work across multiple offices. Taking time out of your 'normal business hours' to go to personal appointments and take family/personal time is highly accepted, and lots of people work the hours they choose (some people start at 6am, some at 10am). You can also discuss arrangements where you work a 9-day fortnight and either make up the extra hours on other days, or get paid 90% of your full annual salary.

Very flexible. I work from home 3 days a week.

I generally work roughly 8:45-5. I don't need to submit a time sheet, it's an honesty system. Many people work different hours to fit around other commitments and preferences, including working longer hours to have a 4 day week or 9 day fortnight. The department also allows working from home 2 days a week, and often more if you ask specifically for it.

Every team is different, but as long as you work your hours and are available for meetings in the core part of the day, it really doesn't matter when you complete that work. If you like to start at 7am and finish closer to 3pm, because you need to pick up your kids from school or just prefer those hours.

They are very flexible with working hours. There is flexibility in when you start and end your day, as long as you work the hours outlined in your contract and any changes are approved by your manager.

Very flexible, respectful culture around not contacting people out of hours, and insistent that people do not work more than they should be
