I'm currently working as a Graduate Engineer. My day to day responsibilities depends on the team I am in for the rotation. Mainly they'll include attending scheduled routine meetings, pairing with colleagues on the tasks we picked up, participate/facilitate discussions on the piece of work the team is exposed to, attend knowledge sharing sessions which are super valuable.

I am a Graduate Engineer. My day-to-day responsibilities involve attending and contributing to meetings where I can, learning and involving myself in the team's processes, and building on my technical skills by completing work relevant to the team's roadmap goals.

It can vary from team to team, but in general, I take on tasks to complete (coding). I can also take on scrum responsibilities.

Graduate Software Dev, Receive and complete tickets, Run agile meetings

Graduate Enginner: Learn as much as you can about all the different technologies used in the company. Develop soft skills and learn to communicate effectively in a corporate team environment.

My day to day responsibilities vary depending on which project I am working on. At the moment, I work alongside my buddy for a few hours in the morning, then I move on to independent tasks (I always have someone to ask questions to if I need!) and I often spend the late afternoon working on grad activities (precessional development etc.) if the day permits.

Stand-up, tech huddle. Pair programming. 1-on-1 catch ups or Grad Cohort Meeting As a graduate engineer, our main responsibility is to learn from our rotation teams. As a result, there is no performance metric. We're expecting to measure growth/development

Normal ticket work (writing code, testing/reviewing other people's code). Attending meetings. Education such as AWS certifications, (Education is really emphasized within the grad program)

Typical software engineer day to day.

Based off my experience so far, I'm not particularly interested in the work that I'm doing. I'm finding the work slightly tedious, boring and I don't feel that I'm learning things that I'm interested in. I think the role is not what I had thought, and I'm unsure if this has changed due to the restructure and org changes or if it's the work itself that I'm not interested in.

Graduate engineer. Working on little tickets, learning new things bit by bit. For a time, spending lots of time studying for the AWS exam, which was quite unsatisfying.

I love doing software development. It is so satisfying seeing something come to life. Xero is great at involving grads in meaningful and exciting work.
