Most of them are usually very accessible and they make really good mentors. I do know a few cases that aren't necessarily like that so I wouldn't say it's 100% ideal. Feedbacks and internal communications are usually facilitated through scheduled catch ups and progress updates that happen at a frequent rate. Praise and recognition are also given to people promptly too.

My manager is absolutely amazing and is a great mentor. Honestly, feels more like hanging out with a friend over actual meetings. Haven't spoken about a lot of that stuff, but does give praise.

All of my managers have been incredibly talented, responsible, and personable. I have personally learned a lot so far from managers who were not directly responsible for me. Manager accessibility is emphasised within Xero.

My manager is a terrific manager when I'm able to get in the same (meeting) room with her - she is empathetic, and offers really great advice and reassurance to me when needed. She provides good feedback and praise. However, she is slow to reply to messages and often shows up late or doesn't show at all to meetings, which I find somewhat disrespectful and makes me feel like I'm not a priority.

On the whole, my managers have been smart, friendly, approachable, and excellent mentors. They're very communicative and highly value praise and feedback
