What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
Reasonable and decent.
Graduate, Melbourne - 30 Aug 2024
Pay is a good rate, more is always nice but I'm getting paid a generous amount compared to other grad programs. Bonuses are nice too.

I feel like it could be more given the size of the company, however i guess its a trade off for the work culture
Graduate, Melbourne - 27 Jun 2024
Pay is okay (much better than average), and RSUs are used as a loyalty 'bonus' of sorts. I'm happy with the pay as a trade-off for work-life balance. As I continue to progress in my career, I would expect significant rises in pay.

Pay seems to be the most generous for the role within ACT. Incredibly satisfied.

Xero's pay is not very competitive comparing to other software companies.

I think my salary for a grad program is very good and reasonable. I also like that all the graduates are on the same salary as we bring the same experience/skills etc.
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Oct 2023
It is very generous for a new grad. All the offers I got were less money than this one.

Uncompetitive pay compared to other SaaS companies in Australia. This goes for all engineering roles, not just graduate engineering. You get a stock package which can net you some extra coin, which is nice Despite years of employees politely and reasonably asking about it, the company has shown no interest in any kind of pay transparency. They have kicked the can down the road on that topic many times. Additionally, the company has shown no willingness to increase pay during the cost of living crisis. Instead, they laid off hundreds of employees. The board said they would take a pay cut and subsequently increased their own pay.

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
Generous leave policies (Xtra leaves for everyone), team budgets for team social activities, free breakfasts, free afternoon teas, professional training budgets, free tickets sometimes, free in-house massages.

They have a lot of retail discounts that are quite handy. 30 pages worth of them.
Graduate, Melbourne - 27 Jun 2024
Free private health insureance
Graduate, Melbourne - 27 Jun 2024
private health insurance, Extra 8 days of leave a year (3 of them have to be during the Christmas-New year week)
Graduate, Canberra - 27 Jun 2024
We have an extra 5 days off which is amazing! We also have free health insurance.
Graduate, Melbourne - 26 Jun 2024
Great discounts through Xero rewards program. Free health insurance. free drinks, snacks, A week of extra leave. Wellbeing leave as opposed to "sick" leave
Graduate, Melbourne - 26 Jun 2024
Leave policies are strong, especially around wellbeing. Other perks are quite standard
Graduate, Canberra - 26 Jun 2024
The 5 days of extra leave and free holiday leave. Also the discounted private health insurance. Also I enjoy having wellbeing leave instead of sick leave, which offers more flexibility and consideration to our health and well-being beyond being physically sick.

Xtra leave is great!
Graduate, Canberra - 16 Oct 2023
Shares in the company. Free food and drinks. Company regularly takes us cool places too
Graduate, Canberra - 11 Oct 2023
Generous wellbeing leave. "Xtra leave", which is a few days of extra leave awarded bi-annually I believe (if you don't use it before the next set of Xtra leave is awarded, you lose it). Some discounts on a limited selection of products and services, but they aren't very compelling and the way to access them is a bit unwieldy. During the grad program, you get to do plenty of fun activities with your grad cohort near the end of the year -- some nice meals and an escape room or two
