Graduate Certificate in Education (Special Education)

Applicants must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification in education, disability studies, psychology, speech and language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or a closely related discipline from an approved tertiary institution.

Master of Education (Special Education)

Applicants to the Master of Education (Special Education) (2 Years) must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification in disability studies, psychology, speech and language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or a closely related discipline from an approved tertiary institution.

Applicants to the Master of Education (Special Education) (1.5 Years) must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification in education, teaching or a closely related discipline from an approved tertiary institution.

The test is a single, national instrument designed to assess elements of an individual’s literacy and numeracy skills and will be used to demonstrate that ITE graduates are in the top 30 per cent of the population for literacy and numeracy. All students commencing an ITE program after 1 January 2017 will be required to meet the benchmark prior to graduation.
