Griffith University Courses

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Visual Arts, applicants must:

• hold a Bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised University
• OR, have a minimum of five years experience in the Visual Arts industry

The University's Undergraduate Programs Admission Policy will apply.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Diploma of Financial Crime Investigations and Compliance, an applicant must:

• hold any Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale) OR
• hold a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Financial Crime Investigations and Compliance with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale). Students with a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Financial Crime Investigations and Compliance will receive 40 credit points of advanced standing, OR
• have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field, OR
• have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to either of the above.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia cohort

Students wishing to complete this program under the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) corporate education scheme are required to complete a consent form providing Griffith University with permission to share their student information with the employer, CBA, in relation to the program.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Criminology and Criminal Justice, a student must:

• hold a three-year bachelor degree in a related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (on a 7-point scale)
• OR hold a Graduate Certificate of Criminology and Criminal Justice with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (on a 7-point scale).
• A degree equivalent to the discipline of criminology and criminal justice would be one that focused on criminal justice issues, had research methods training and has theory subjects applicable to criminological studies.

Consideration for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Suicidology program will be given to those candidates who have:

• completed a Bachelor degree in any discipline
• OR a health or social sciences-related Diploma or Certificate IV VET/TAFE qualification plus two years relevant work experience.

While the Master of Primary Maternity Care is mainly designed for registered midwives, it is also available to other health professionals in the maternity services sector.

All applicants seeking to undertake the Master of Primary Maternity Care must hold:

• a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a suitable professional health practice discipline such as midwifery, medicine, nursing or social work from a recognised tertiary institution with a GPA of 4.0 or above
• OR a Graduate Certificate in Primary Maternity Care from Griffith University (students will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing and will be required to complete 80 credit points in the program).

The University's Bachelor Honours Degree (AQF Level 8) Policy will apply.

The criteria for admission to this Honours program are:

• successful completion of the Griffith Bachelor of Medical Science or an equivalent qualification from another university and
• a GPA of at least 5.0 for the second and third year level courses of the Bachelor degree.

The Program Director will take the following into consideration when assessing applications for admission:

• the suitability of the proposed dissertation topic, the resources available to support the candidature and the availability of appropriate supervision and
• the preparedness of the applicant to undertake the degree in terms of the elapsed time since the prospective candidate qualified for the award of a Bachelor degree and the academic preparation provided by the Bachelor degree for the candidate's proposed dissertation topic.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management, a student must:

• hold any Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale), OR
• have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field, OR
• have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to either of the above.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Policy Analysis, a student must:

• hold any Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.5 (using a 7.0 scale) OR
• have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field or with the public sector OR
• have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to either of the above.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Climate Change Adaptation, a student must:

• hold a Bachelor degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.5 (using a 7.0 point scale)
• OR have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time relevant work experience.

To apply for admission into the Master of Advanced Health Services Management, a student should:

• hold a suitable Bachelor degree in a related field (Public Health, Health Services Management, Environmental Health, Allied Health, Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Clinical, Research and Biomedical Health)
• OR hold a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Bachelor Honours degree in a related field (Public Health; Health Services Management; Environmental Health; Allied Health, Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Clinical, Research and Biomedical Health) - students will be eligible for admission with advanced standing to complete a 120 credit point Masters
• OR have completed one of the following Griffith Graduate Certificates*:
• Graduate Certificate in Digital Health (3336)
• Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management (3082) or Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management (3317)
• Graduate Certificate in Clinical Leadership (3280)

* Students applying for admission via this pathway may be eligible for Advanced Standing or specified credit of up to 40 credit points depending on courses completed in the Griffith Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management program. Credit applications for other Graduate Certificate programs are assessed individually and will require assessment of similarity in learning outcomes.

Applicants with extensive experience in health services management positions who do not hold such qualifications as listed in the requirements above may apply for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management, Graduate Certificate in Digital Health or Graduate Certificate in Clinical Leadership with progression to the Master of Advanced Health Services Management being dependent on a minimum pass grade in all courses.

Students who have graduated with the Master of Health Services Management (120 credit points) award are not eligible for admission to the Master of Advanced Health Services Management.
