Working Hours at Northrop Consulting Engineers

8.5
8.5 rating for Working Hours, based on 51 reviews
How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
Typically working 9am-5.30pm with two days from home. However, my section allows full flexibility for the choice of days and in cases of sickness or being overseas, can be fully remote working if desired. Hours can start later or earlier depending on schedules. When working later hours than usual to deliver a project, time can be taken on another day to compensate.

They're very flexible and i have set boundaries to not work late as it is not healthy for me as individual (I work better within my hours knowing I have a good work / home balance).

Our company is probably too flexible when it comes to hours. there is really no strict start or finish time. each person can decide when to start and finish. There is an expectation to get projects completed but there isn't pressure to stay heaps late all the time.

Northrop is flexible with their office hours which is nice. Depending on how many days on you are on site can determine how many days in office.

30-40 hours a week. I am currently studying so I take time off for uni during the semester and work full time during the breaks. The managers encourage study and make sure that we have the resources and time to make it a priority. On occasion if there is a lot of pressure and I need extra time off, I know that my manager will have no issues.

Northrop is particularly flexible when it comes to hours, location of work and taking leave when needed. For example i sometimes work from an office in Taree on Friday so i can have a weekend back home close to my family

I work minimum 37.5 hours in a week, but during busy time, I could work more than 50 hours (that rarely happen). The company is very flexible about the schedule. In the instances I work overtime, I could take a paid leave or paid overtime for it.

Company is flexible with work hour arrangements. You can adjust them as needed. Although I notice that different teams have different working arrangements (Sustainability tends to work more from home and start at later hour).

Very flexible, all it takes is some notice and I can make appointments and other commitments

It varies from section to section. The section I'm in is exactly what I would expect a good company expects from its workers.
Graduate, Canberra - 06 Aug 2024
The working hours is normal and flexible. For a Graduate, you are not asked to stay back. You are allowed to work from home, but it is expected you come to the office most of the days.
Graduate, Sydney - 05 Aug 2024
8:30-5pm. WFH flexibility and you can make up your hours if you require e.g. school pick up/drop off, flexible if you need to take leave for appointments.

As a graduate, I'm in the office Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 17:00. Staff with more seniority and experience are able to work from for some days and also vary the number of days at work.

My work hours would normally be 7.5 hours per day. It is very flexible in our company as we can have in and out for the week, like if I have the appointment on Monday morning, I can out of office for 2 hours for it.
