Pros & Cons

  • Rewarding and challenging work means I'm learning every day, and the seniors have been happy to help at every turn
  • Quality of the work, exposure to industry-leading matters, ownership, and responsibility over the work.
  • I really enjoy the international aspect and being able to work with people globally.
  • The culture! People here are extremely friendly and willing to teach.
  • Lots of opportunity to take on real responsibility and speak directly with clients, from the very beginning.
  • Truly international law firm means that you may have to work outside normal hours, especially if you're working on projects with teams in Europe or the USA.
  • The hours can be long - especially on overseas deals.
  • There is minimal after hours interaction, perhaps both due to it being a smaller office in Sydney and due to the workload.
  • Bureaucracy
  • Can also be tough to organise outside activities, because everybody is on different schedules
